Story 03
The team with perfect delivery
An alert is not successful because it arrived; it succeeds when the right person acts and the work moves forward.

The dashboard showed that every alert had been delivered.
The team celebrated 99.9%.
But the deployment was still waiting for approval.
The notification had arrived. Nobody had acted.
“Delivered” was the system’s definition of success.
“Resolved” was the human’s definition.
So they changed what they measured.
Not how many alerts were sent.
How many important events reached the right person, received an answer, and became done.
A metric is a promise disguised as a number.
Choose the wrong one, and the product will faithfully optimize the wrong outcome.
