The shortest status meeting
When software reports the facts it already knows, teams can save meetings for decisions that require people.
Every morning, six people gathered to answer one question:
“Where are we?”
The build was running. The migration was halfway done. The release was waiting for review.
They spent thirty minutes reporting facts that software already knew.
Then the facts began finding them.
The build announced its result. The migration showed its progress. The release asked for a decision.
The next meeting lasted ten minutes.
They used it to discuss what the software could not decide.
Better communication does not mean communicating more.
It means saving human conversation for work that requires humans.
