Live Activities

Keep everyone
in the moment.

Some updates aren’t over in a tap. Dinner is cooking. Your run is still going. The release is nearly ready. Start a Live Activity and give your room one card that stays current until you’re done.

Seven ways to share what’s happening.

Watch the cards update, then try the controls. Advance a step, change the score, or choose what’s for dinner.

Live examples. Open a card’s controls to try it yourself.

Try every example here. No Pings are sent.

A glance keeps
you in the loop.

On supported iPhones, Live Activities appear on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Android shows an ongoing live update. The full card is also in your PingRoom room, including on the web.

What appears outside the app depends on your device, OS, and notification settings. A shared run shows the values you post; it doesn’t track your location.

  1. 01

    Start with an example

Open your room’s composer, choose Live Activity, pick an example, and customize it for your moment.

  2. 02

    Update as you go

Advance the steps, change the progress, update your numbers, or keep score from the room. Updates change the same card quietly.

  3. 03

    Finish with a result

End the activity when you’re done. The room keeps the final result, and a completion Ping lets your people know.

Let a connected tool keep it current.

You can start a Live Activity yourself, or let a connected agent or incoming webhook send the updates. Build progress, order preparation, and long-running jobs can share the same live view.
