PingRoom is short-form communication: quick updates, questions, and answers between people, apps, and AI. Create a room for your family, friends, or team, then send a Ping with one tap. Ask a question when you need an answer, or request a confirmation when you need someone to act.

Live Activities are free in private rooms. Share a status, steps, progress, up to three metrics, a countdown, a decision, or a matchup score. Start from an example and customize it. Updates change the same card quietly until you finish, when a completion Ping lets the room know. Follow it on the iPhone Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, in an Android live update, or inside the room, depending on your device and settings. You can start up to 50 new Live Activities per day on either plan. Updating or finishing an existing activity does not use that allowance. Connected agents have separate daily limits.

Near-instant. Notifications go straight to Apple (APNs) and Google (FCM) through our own delivery engine: no third-party middleman in the path, no extra hop to slow it down.

PingRoom does not continuously track you or automatically record your movements. For a location trigger, we store the center and radius so it can sync and be edited; your phone monitors the boundary and sends the trigger ID rather than a live GPS sample. That event tells us the device entered or exited the saved area. Separately, if you choose to attach a place to a Ping, its precise coordinates and optional label or address are stored with that Ping and shared with its recipients.

It can use some battery, but PingRoom relies on the geofencing built into iOS and Android instead of polling GPS continuously. The operating system wakes the app when you cross a boundary you set, which limits battery use.

You can start as a guest in the mobile app or browser without an email address. Add an email later and confirm a one-time code to keep your rooms across devices. To open your existing rooms on another device, sign in with the same account.

Yes. PingRoom runs in the browser at pingroom.io/app. Sign in and send Pings without installing anything. Supported browsers can receive background push notifications after you enable them and grant permission. The native iOS and Android apps add location triggers and native live updates; the iPhone app also supports Apple Watch, widgets, and Siri.

Yes. Create up to five private or public rooms, plus your personal room, and join up to 20 other rooms. Free includes four Quick Pings per room, all 25 sounds, custom Pings, links, shared places, one active location trigger, and one active scheduled Ping. In the iOS and Android apps the free triggers work from version 1.6; on earlier versions, a free scheduled Ping can be set up in the web app. Questions, confirmation requests, and Live Activities are free in private rooms. Free history shows the latest 100 Pings per room and your latest 100 notifications.

Pro adds unlimited rooms and access to full retained history, up to 16 Quick Pings per room you own, unlimited scheduled Pings, up to 5 location triggers in every room, incoming and outgoing webhooks, file uploads, chat mirrors, password protection, personal-room Insights, and custom QR designs.

A numbered one-tap button inside a room. Tap it and everyone gets the Ping you configured: a sound, message, or signal. Free rooms have four Quick Pings. A Pro room owner can add up to 16, and everyone with permission to send can use them.

Yes. Questions are free in private rooms. Offer two to four answer buttons, and optionally let people type a short answer of up to 60 characters. You can also request a confirmation when you need one person to take responsibility.

Free shows the latest 100 Pings in each room and your latest 100 notifications. This is a viewing limit; older Pings do not automatically expire because of their age. Pro lets you read further back through retained history. Room and account deletion rules still apply.

Yes. Free accounts get one active location trigger (geofence) and one active scheduled Ping, counted across the rooms you own; switch either off to make another one active. Pro makes scheduled Pings unlimited, turns on up to 5 location triggers in every room, and adds incoming webhooks and outgoing webhooks when something happens in a room. An iPhone can watch up to 20 places at once across all your rooms, and PingRoom tells you when you have more than it can watch. In the iOS and Android apps the free triggers work from version 1.6; on earlier versions, a free scheduled Ping can be set up in the web app.

Yes. Incoming and outgoing webhooks require Pro. Connected agents have a free allowance of 20 Pings and five new Live Activities per day, with scoped permissions through MCP and OAuth 2.1. See Connections or read the Agent Access guide for setup and limits.

Rooms anyone can discover and subscribe to, great for creators and communities. Creating public rooms is free: they share the five-room ownership allowance with private rooms. Owners and admins control publishing. Public rooms have a shared limit of one Ping per minute on both plans.

Public endpoints are rate-limited, APIs whitelist allowed fields, and logs filter secrets. Your account has no PingRoom password: sign-in uses a one-time email code or social login. Room passwords are stored as one-way hashes. We also limit collection to data the Service needs. Read the security overview.
