PingRoom is a real-time notification app for shared rooms. Create a room, set up one-tap buttons, hit one, and everyone in the room gets Pinged instantly. It works for friends, families, teams, events, on-call crews, and anyone who needs a fast shared signal.

Near-instant. Notifications go straight to Apple (APNs) and Google (FCM) through our own delivery engine: no third-party middleman in the path, no extra hop to slow it down.

PingRoom does not continuously track you or automatically record your movements. For a location trigger, we store the center and radius so it can sync and be edited; your phone monitors the boundary and sends the trigger ID rather than a live GPS sample. That event tells us the device entered or exited the saved area. Separately, if you choose to attach a place to a Ping, its precise coordinates and optional label or address are stored with that Ping and shared with its recipients.

It can use some battery, but PingRoom relies on the geofencing built into iOS and Android instead of polling GPS continuously. The operating system wakes the app when you cross a boundary you set, which limits battery use.

No. You can start as a guest without an email address. Add an email later and confirm a one-time code to keep your rooms across devices.

Yes. PingRoom runs in the browser at pingroom.io/app. Sign in and send Pings without installing anything. The native iOS and Android apps add push notifications and location triggers.

Yes, the core is free: up to five rooms of your own (public ones included), quick actions, and broadcasts. Pro unlocks all triggers (location, schedule, incoming and outgoing webhooks), plus unlimited rooms.

Yes, with Pro: fire on a geofence (location), on a schedule (time), from an incoming webhook, or send outgoing webhooks when something happens in a room.

Yes. Incoming and outgoing webhooks connect PingRoom to compatible systems with a URL. PingRoom also supports MCP with OAuth 2.1, so AI agents such as Claude, Cursor, and CI bots can Ping rooms with scoped permissions. See Connections or read the Agent Access doc (the auth.md spec).

Public endpoints are rate-limited, APIs whitelist allowed fields, and logs filter secrets. Your account has no PingRoom password: sign-in uses a one-time email code or social login. Room passwords are stored as one-way hashes. We also limit collection to data the Service needs. Read the security overview.
