The signal that survived the shift change
A kitchen’s backup signal keeps the same meaning across two shifts and a new teammate.
The kitchen had two shifts and one Quick Action:
“Need backup.”
In the morning, a cook tapped it from her watch. The nearest teammate stepped in.
At the evening handoff, a new cook learned the action.
Later, she needed another pair of hands. She tapped. The nearest teammate stepped in.
The people were different.
The meaning was not.
Nobody had to search a chat or invent a second routine.
