The next family in the frame

The portrait studio was ready before the waiting family had finished their walk around the block.

An empty portrait stool, a red photography umbrella, and three cut-paper figures waiting in a studio doorway.

The portrait session before theirs was running a little long. A toddler had discovered that the studio stool could spin.

Tessa offered the next family a choice: wait by the coat rack, or take a short walk and watch for the agreed PingRoom Quick Ping. They chose the walk. Their youngest had already counted every coat twice.

Outside, they found a window full of wooden animals. The children argued, peacefully for once, about which fox looked most like their uncle.

Back in the studio, Tessa helped the previous family gather their bags. She reset the stool, checked her lights, and tapped “Ready for your family. Come back to the studio.”

Their father saw the Ping and gave everyone one last look at the foxes.

When they returned, the smallest child climbed onto the stool and announced that Uncle Ben was definitely the fox on the left. Tessa took the first photograph while everyone was laughing.
