Story 50
The drill is back in its case
The borrowed tool was ready to go home before its owner had to ask.

The shelf took longer than expected. First the bracket was crooked, then the pencil disappeared, then Amir decided the whole thing should sit a little lower.
By Sunday afternoon, it was finally level. His neighbor's drill was still on the floor beside the dustpan.
When Dan had lent it to him, they had agreed that Amir would use their PingRoom room's “Ready to return” Quick Ping once everything was packed. Dan sometimes needed the drill for work, and an open-ended loan was awkward to plan around.
Amir brushed off the case, checked that every drill bit was back in its slot, and put the charger back. Then he sent the Ping.
Dan saw it before leaving for the shops and stopped downstairs on his way out. Amir handed over the case and pointed at the finished shelf.
Dan gave it a small, approving tug, then lifted the case and headed out to the shops.
