The garden tap is free

Beth keeps planting while Rafi waters, then gets the agreed signal when the shared tap is available.

The allotment had one outdoor tap, and the hose took a while to fill a row of watering cans.

Rafi was watering the young beans. Across the garden, Beth was planting herbs with two empty cans beside her bed. She had asked him to let her know when he finished, so she could keep working instead of standing by the tap.

Their small PingRoom room already had a “Garden tap free” Quick Ping. After Rafi filled his last can, he turned off the water, disconnected his hose, and sent it.

Beth saw the Ping when she brushed the soil from her gloves. She carried her cans along the path while Rafi took his full one back to the beans.

They passed beside the compost bins. Beth held up a spare basil seedling, and Rafi found room for it at the end of his row.
