The lift is clear for the sofa
Cam finishes unloading upstairs, then tells the friends waiting with the sofa that the lift is clear.
Moving day had become a relay between the van, the lift, and the new flat.
Cam was upstairs with the last load of boxes. Down in the lobby, Bea and Luis were waiting beside the wrapped sofa. There was no point manoeuvring it toward the lift until Cam had finished unloading.
The three friends had made a PingRoom room for the move. Cam carried the final box into the flat, checked that nothing remained in the lift, and sent their “Lift is clear” Quick Ping.
Bea read it while Luis adjusted the blanket protecting the sofa’s corner. They moved the sofa toward the doors and called the lift down.
Cam waited upstairs with the flat door open. When the lift returned, the sofa fitted through on the second angle they tried. The box marked for the kettle could wait a little longer.
