PingRoom 1.6.1 Is Live on iPhone

PingRoom 1.6.1 adds Community Presets, recent links, questions and checklists, unified Room search, easier setup, and a clearer Apple Watch flow.

PingRoom 1.6.1 is live on the iPhone App Store. The release brings Community Presets into the app, lets you reuse recently sent links, questions, and checklists, combines Room-name and @handle search, simplifies several automation setup paths, and improves the Apple Watch Quick Ping and Question controls.

This is an iPhone release. The current Google Play listing does not establish Android parity for 1.6.1, so this article does not claim it.

The useful change is not necessarily the biggest item in the release notes. Choose the row that removes friction from a task you already do.

Try one low-stakes path first

Use a Room you control and a Ping that nobody will mistake for an urgent instruction.

  1. Update PingRoom from the App Store.
  2. Open one existing Room.
  3. Choose one 1.6.1 path: preview a Community Preset, search for the Room by name or @handle, or reuse a recent Link, Question, or Checklist.
  4. Read the preview or restored fields before confirming anything.
  5. Send only if the wording, recipients, and attachment still fit the current moment.

For Community Presets, the existing preview-and-placement guide explains Add, Replace, Needs Pro, and Locked. For Room search, use the iPhone Room search guide. The new recent attachment guide shows exactly what a reused Link, Question, or Checklist restores.

Two approved PingRoom avatars arrange four blank workflow tiles in a home entryway while Pingo watches from the console table.

Community Presets now have an iPhone route

Community Presets began in PingRoom’s browser app. In 1.6.1, you can discover, preview, and share them from the iPhone app too.

A preset is still a reusable set of Quick Pings, not access to the source Room. Preview every label and sound before using it. If you manage the destination Room, read the proposed page placement before confirming, especially when a page already has Quick Pings or is connected to an automation.

The Community Presets overview covers public discovery, link sharing, frozen copies, and publishing boundaries.

Recent attachments save rebuilding, not judgment

The Custom Ping composer can now offer links, questions, and checklists you sent recently. Pick the same attachment type, choose the recent entry, then review what returns.

This is a shortcut, not a scheduled send or an instruction to repeat the old Ping unchanged. A link destination can move. A question’s choices can stop fitting. A checklist can carry tasks that are already finished. Treat the restored content as a draft.

Pingo the Pigeon, PingRoom’s official mascot and fictional Chief Marketing Officer, has arranged six release props into one tidy row for the illustration. He cannot open a private Room, reuse anyone’s content, send a Ping, or approve release claims. The human team remains responsible for those decisions.

Search, setup, and Apple Watch changes stay task-specific

The unified iPhone search accepts a Room name or public @handle in the same place. It does not make a private Room public or bypass an invitation.

The setup improvements cover Location Pings, Scheduled Pings, and webhooks. They do not turn a possible webhook recipe into a native integration, and they do not remove the current Pro requirement for automation. Use the dedicated workflow guide for the trigger you intend to run, then test with harmless content.

On Apple Watch, 1.6.1 shows four Quick Pings at once and clarifies Question controls. The Apple Watch Question guide explains the first-answer and all-answers policies, along with the difference between a complication shortcut and a background sender.

Availability

Apple’s public app record reported PingRoom 1.6.1 on November 4, 2026, and lists iOS 17 or later. Storefront display and search caches can lag the live app record. If your device still shows an older version, open the App Store product page and check the offered update rather than assuming every platform has the same build.

Update PingRoom on iPhone, then try one reversible 1.6.1 workflow in a Room you already use.
