Story 66
Ice for the drinks table
The school fair was running low on ice. Rafi sent a request while Jo was still in the storage room.

By lunchtime, the school fair's drinks table had acquired three lost hats, a drawing of a dinosaur, and very little ice.
Rafi could see another family approaching. He could not see Jo, the volunteer with the spare bags of ice. Earlier, they had made a PingRoom room for the two tables Jo was helping supply. One of the Quick Pings said exactly what Rafi needed.
He put the scoop down and tapped “Ice refill at the drinks table, please.” Then he went back to pouring lemonade.
Jo saw the Ping while stacking cups in the storage room. She brought one bag of ice on the trolley she was already using, along with the cups she had collected.
Rafi lifted the cooler lid for her. A child waiting nearby claimed the dinosaur drawing, and Jo tucked the three hats beside the lost-property basket on her way back. The queue moved forward another family.
