Your book-club week in four Quick Pings
Give readers four repeatable check-ins, then add one optional weekly reminder so everyone knows when the discussion starts.
A book club needs conversation. It does not need the meeting time buried inside it.
Picture four people reading the same book for Thursday. One finished on Sunday. One is still reading on Wednesday. The host needs to confirm that the meeting is still happening, without starting another round of “what time was it?”
Keep the discussion wherever your club already talks. Use one private PingRoom Room for the short updates that change what everyone should do next.
Start with four repeatable check-ins
Create a private Room for the people in the club. You can choose Reading with a book club from PingRoom’s ready-made use cases, or set up these four Quick Pings yourself:

Agree on what “finished” means before the first week. For one club it may mean the whole book; for another it may mean this week’s chapters. A stable label is useful because everyone reads it the same way each time.

Schedule the one reminder worth repeating

Keep the automatic part narrow. A meeting reminder changes what the group should do. A daily “Have you read yet?” Ping is more likely to become another notification people ignore.
Current store listings describe scheduled Pings as daily, weekly, or one-time and place scheduling in PingRoom Pro. If your club changes dates often, skip the repeating trigger and send the meeting reminder manually.

Keep the actual book talk out of the Room
Use PingRoom for the moment, not the whole discussion. Quotes, theories, spoilers, and the spirited disagreement about chapter nine belong in your meeting or usual chat.

Set it up before the first chapter
- Create a private Room and invite the current club members.
- Choose the book-club template or add the four Quick Pings above.
- Decide whether “finished” means the whole book or the current section.
- If you use Pro, schedule one weekly meeting-day reminder.
- Send a test Ping so everyone recognizes the Room before the first meeting.
Then leave the phone alone. When discussion time arrives, one clear Ping should be enough to bring everyone back to the book.
