# How Coaches Can Send Silent Signals During a Game

When devices are permitted, a coach can create a private room with a few agreed cues such as **Substitution**, **Slow tempo**, **Regroup**, and **Check sideline**. Players receive the Ping as a phone or watch notification instead of relying on a shouted instruction.

## Keep the vocabulary small

Each cue must have one meaning established during practice. Do not encode a complex playbook into vague notifications. The player should be able to understand the signal from a glance or haptic and return attention to the game.

Test the device placement, notification permission, Focus configuration, and vibration in the actual venue. Disable sound if it would disrupt play. Assign one authorized sender so conflicting instructions cannot reach the same room.

## Check the rules first

Many leagues, schools, venues, and governing bodies restrict electronic communication during competition. Confirm the current rules and obtain any required consent before using a phone, wearable, or notification system.
