To send a notification to a friend with PingRoom, create a private room, share its invite code or link with your friend, and give the room one or more quick actions. Tapping an action sends an immediate push notification to the people in that room. You do not need to compose a message every time.

## Set up the direct line

1. Open PingRoom and create a room for the two of you.
2. Name it after the purpose, not the technology: “On my way,” “Need you,” or “Coffee break” is clearer than “Alerts.”
3. Share the room’s invite code or join link with your friend.
4. Replace the default actions with the signals you actually use.
5. Tap an action once when the moment happens.

Useful two-person actions include **Leaving now**, **Call me**, **I’m outside**, and **Home safe**. The label carries the meaning, while the room tells your friend who the signal came from and why it matters.

## Why use a room instead of a text?

A text is best when the wording changes or you expect a conversation. A PingRoom action is better when the same small signal happens repeatedly and speed matters. There is no thread to open before sending, and the notification can land on the phone, watch, or web surface your friend already uses.

The room still keeps history, so both people can check what fired and when. It simply does not turn every signal into another chat stream.

## Make the notification recognizable

Choose a room name, icon, color, and sound that you will both understand at a glance. Keep the action set small. Four precise buttons are more useful than a crowded menu.

Notification delivery also depends on your friend allowing notifications on their device. PingRoom cannot bypass operating-system notification settings, Focus modes, connectivity, or a muted room.
